Gordon is an Indianapolis, Indiana native. During the summer, Gordon would attend many AAU tournaments, Adidas Superstar camps and, Big Time in Las Vegas. During the summers, he played on teams which included other NBA players: Greg 0den, Michael Conley, Josh McRoberts, DaQuan Cook and Derrick Rose.
